Covered Streets in Louvain-la-Neuve

Following the construction of new properties, the securing of public roads and loading bays, albeit that the latter are privately owned, must comply with the applicable security standards.

As a result, the municipal administration organised a public tender to find a design office specialising in smoke extraction in covered streets and the securing of such streets. In this framework, Immo-Pro partnered with the Swiss company HBI, an engineering consultancy specialising in the ventilation, aerodynamics and safety of tunnels and EMS, a consultancy specialising in special techniques studies. It was awarded the contract for drafting the specifications and overseeing the works. More specifically, Immo-Pro was tasked with coordinating the studies within the association and will also monitor the construction process.

The first phase of this contract led to the drafting of a reference document, in accordance with the agreements of the various stakeholders that advised the contracting authority, including UCL, the police and the fire department of Wavre.

Currently the specifications are being drafted. As soon as it is completed and approved by the contracting authority, a new public tender will be organised to designate the company that will be in charge of the future works.
